Governor Huckabee leads Republicans for 2012

Governor Huckabee leads poll.

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 5 (UPI) — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is the Republican front-runner for the 2012 U.S. presidential race, a USA Today/Gallup Poll indicated Thursday.

Huckabee, a 2008 presidential hopeful who’s now the host of a weekend Fox News talk show, dismissed the poll as meaningless.

“It’s like speculating who’s going to be the best actor next year when we don’t even know what the movies are,” he told the newspaper.

The poll of 1,021 adults, including 301 Republicans, taken Saturday and Sunday, found that after Huckabee the top three Republican contenders for the presidential nomination are former Massachusetts governor and 2008 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, former Alaskan governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and political consultant and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Seventy-one percent of declared Republicans would “seriously consider” voting for Huckabee, 65 percent would consider voting for Romney or Palin and 60 percent would consider voting for Gingrich, the poll indicated.

In poll responses on whether the prospects are “qualified to be president,” only Huckabee reached the 50 percent mark.

When someone stands on principles throughout their career in politics, it’s an easy choice to endorse their candidacy for the United States Senate. HuckPac is excited to formally announce its endorsement of Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate.

Marco believes in smaller government. He is a firm supporter of life. As the former Florida Speaker, he was incredibly effective at bringing new ideas to the table and working to see them passed into law. He is a family man, loyal, and compassionate.

For Governor 2009
Virginia

Huck PAC and Governor Huckabee are proud to endorse Bob McDonnell for Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bob started his political career in Virginia in 1991 by serving in the House of Delegates. It was his first election victory and he has not lost since. Bob McDonnell attended the University of Notre Dame, a fulfillmnet of a lifelong dream. He could only afford college through a full Army ROTC scholarship. Bob realized that his education carried with it a commitment to serve his country. He did so from 1976 until 1981, when he left active duty. But he did not end his military career. In fact, he served 21 years in the U.S. Army, both active duty and reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1997.

Bob simultaneously attended law school, continued his work for a Master’s Degree in public policy, raised his young family, worked as a sales manager for a newspaper, and served in the active reserves for the Army. In 2005 McDonnell was electedAttorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Since taking office as Attorney General McDonnell has seen 83 of his 94 legislative proposals become law, most with overwhelming bipartisan support,

He has been commended for his work to strengthen Virginia’s mental health laws, crack down on animal fighting, establish a “Senior Alert” to assist in locating missing seniors with mental deficiencies, create a state of the art Sex Offender Registry, and provide new tools for law enforcement involved in online investigations of identity theft, sexual predators, and other 21st Century criminals. Bob created and led Virginia’s Youth Internet Safety Task Force, which received widespread attention for its significant recommendations to improve online safety, and established the ongoing Attorney General’s Task Force on Regulatory and Government Reform. The task force has already made over 250 individual recommendations to streamline Virginia’s Administrative Code, and reduce burdensome government regulation.

Service, honor and hard work are the values that define Bob McDonnell, and they are the values that will define his term as Governor, should he be so honored by the voters of Virginia.

For Congress 2010
South Carolina

I am proud to officially endorse my friend, State Representative Rex Rice for Congress. I know Rex Rice will do a great job representing South Carolina’s Third Congressional District.

Representative Rice was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1994 and has been a consistent, common sense, conservative champion ever since. Rex is a floor leader who helped bring the two largest tax cuts in State history. Because of his leadership, Rex was chosen to serve not only as Chairman of his legislative delegation, but also as a Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Rex is both a fiscal and a family conservative who believes like I do that we as a society must protect life from conception to its natural conclusion; a government which governs least, governs best; and that less spending and lower taxes promote economic growth.

For thirty years, Rex has been a small business owner. He has operated a family cattle farm and run a general contracting firm. He understands the meaning of hard work and that small business is the backbone of our economy. Rex knows that when we reduce red tape and cut taxes, we enable small businesses to thrive.

South Carolina is fortunate to have such a capable and proven leader as Rex Rice.

Like me, Rex supports the Fair Tax and the sponsor of South Carolina’s Fair Tax Act.

Personally, I am committed to doing all that I can to ensure South Carolina has Rex Rice representing its 3rd Congressional District in Congress.

I cannot wait for Rex to get to Washington, roll up his sleeves and fight for solutions to today’s tough challenges by fighting for the Fair Tax, eliminating government waste, enabling energy independence, supporting our veterans and our active duty men and women, pushing for free market solutions to education and health care, and defending the right to life and the sanctity of marriage against today’s liberal attacks.

I hope you will join me in the fight for South Carolina values, for conservative values, for faith, family, and freedom and support my friend State Representative Rex Rice for Congress.

SNL & Obama

Okay… I’ve always thought SNL is just a “tad” bit slanted over to the Left.  Didn’t you? So I was pretty surprised by the opening last night but I have to admit, it was really funny. Thank you, SNL, for sharing your special kind of love with President Obama. And I do have to say…. you are right on with the content. Very, very true.

Missed it? Check it out!

Learn More About Huck PAC’s New Pro-Life Team

by Mike Huckabee
I know you are pro-Life and that is why I wanted to make sure you learned what’s happening in the Senate.

Yesterday afternoon, the Senate Finance Committee by a vote of 13-10 voted down an amendment by Republican Orrin Hatch to make certain that federal funds in the health care bill would not pay for abortions. The current bill in the Senate Finance Committee forces the Congress to renew the anti-Abortion language every year. Failure to do so would lead to federal funding of abortions.

The vote was almost entirely along Party lines with only Republican Senator Olympia Snowe voting with the Democrats on the committee.

Because the Democrats in Congress are joined at the hip with pro-abortion groups, does anyone really think that Barbara Boxer or John Kerry will lift a finger in the Senate to make sure this critical language is renewed each year? Can we count on Speaker Nancy Pelosi? Will President Obama stand up for the unborn each year?

We cannot count on them and sadly they will not fight for this renewal.

This vote drives home the point that pro-Life Republicans need to regain the Majority in Congress. This is why I am asking you to help me send a message to the pro-abortion Democrats and Republicans in the Senate.

Will 500 Republicans join the new Pro-Life Team Huck PAC is forming today to help us raise the resources we need to elect new Pro-Life Republicans to the Senate?

If you are financially able to do so I urge you make a contribution of $11 or more by Saturday at midnight. That is one dollar for every seat Republicans need to regain control of the Senate.

Let me also be clear about something, not one penny will go towards helping pro-choice Republicans like Olympia Snowe. Huck PAC stands firmly for the sanctity of Life and we will not support any candidate that votes against Life. Not in the Senate, not in the House not anywhere. It is a founding principle of our PAC and it is something that is inviolate.

I hope you will join us.
